I’m Sep Afshar, a researcher, designer, and developer exploring how extended reality and interactive media can advance education, heritage, and preservation.
My work bridges cultural informatics, game design, and immersive learning, creating web-based and VR tools that make complex ideas more accessible. Each project combines academic rigor with playful design, turning museums, heritage sites, and classrooms into interactive spaces for exploration.
I’m currently a Ph.D. student in Informatics at the University of Illinois, where I lead XR initiatives at The stu/dio.
You’ll find here prototypes, educational tools, and public-facing experiments that connect heritage, technology, and learning.
